Overview of Wildlife Express Train
This train ride is the only way to get to the Rafiki’s Planet Watch attractions, which features animal experiences. The destination area includes the Affection Section and Conservation Station.
Queue and seating information for Wildlife Express Train
The queue is primarily under a covering with ceiling fans, but when crowded it can extend outdoors to an uncovered area. The wait for the train both coming and going can take some time, while the ride itself is about 6 minutes each way. If the queue is crowded, you may have to wait for multiple trains to arrive and depart before you can be boarded.
Guests must leave their strollers at the train station. There are two exceptions. You can bring your stroller along if you have a stroller marked as a wheelchair, or if you have a collapsible stroller (Disney rentals are not collapsible).
After the train ride, the walking path to the attractions is quite long. Depending on the pace you walk it can take somewhere around 10 minutes, give or take. Keep in mind that if you’re unable to bring a stroller, either your child will have to walk the long path or you’ll have to carry him/her.
There are two rows of seats that face outward in the same direction, so you ride facing sideways. The sides are open, and the seats are wood benches with backs.
Wheelchair/ECV information: Wheelchair/ECV riders go to a special waiting area which the Cast Members will point you to. There’s room for one wheelchair or ECV per train car, but there are multiple cars in each train. Still, you may have to wait for another train during busy times. Additional details about Wildlife Express Train
As you ride the train, there’s not usually much to see. You’ll catch glimpses of some of the behind-the-scenes animal care facilities for Kilimanjaro Safaris, and on the return trip you’ll see some themed houses, and you’ll ride alongside Kali River Rapids briefly.
