Overview of UP! A Great Bird Adventure in Animal Kingdom

The star of the show is Explorer Russel and his dog Dug from Up! The story goes that they are in the village of Anandapur India, where they receive a lesson from their guide on birds from around the world. The lesson includes dancing, and a live bird show on an outdoor stage with both free-flying and walking birds.

You’ll see birds such as a peacock, toucan, vulture, owl, falcons, macaws, crowned cranes and the American bald eagle. Some of the birds do stunts and perform different tricks most of which revolve around their natural behaviors.

Queue and seating information for UP! A Great Bird Adventure

There’s no formal queue. Guests just wait outside the theater until it opens in an uncovered area. Wheelchair and ECV seating is available in the very front and in the back rows.

Additional details about UP! A Great Bird Adventure

The show is in an outdoor amphitheater. Behind the stage is what looks like an ancient crumbling building of the type that you would see in in India. Guests sit on hard bench seats without backs. The theater is mostly shaded.

Some of the birds fly and swoop low over the audience. If you’re in the front rows, you’ll be close to live, unrestrained animals, some of which are very large. Some people may find this a little bit disconcerting, but most people won’t have a problem. Sit towards the back if this is more comfortable for you. Some volunteers will be allowed to participate during the show.
