FAQs on ordering at Disney World food booths during festivals with allergies, celiac and other special dietary needs
Disney World holds some wonderful festivals and food is usually central to these events. For example, Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival, Festival of the Arts, and the Flower & Garden Festival all have food booths placed around the lake in the World Showcase area of the park. You can literally eat around the World.
Every food booth offers a selection of small plates. Those with special dietary needs will find that support is very limited in these booths. Here’s what you can expect:
- Every food booth should have a book listing the ingredients that you can request. If you have an allergy or intolerance, you’ll want to read about cross-contamination in the food booths here.
- Disney has been posting when items are made with gluten free ingredients and when they’re vegetarian. However it’s important to know that in these tiny kitchens, the Cast Members will not be able to guarantee that there’s no cross-contamination.
- You can sometimes request to have something off of your dish such as a piece of bread or a sauce.
- If you wish to speak with a manager, you’ll be able to request it. However keep in mind that they’ll usually have to call in a manager from somewhere else, and it could take a while. We’ve waited as long as a half hour in the past. There’s not much that they can do for you, other than to discuss the ingredients.
